REASI, Apr 20: Dilear Khan of Jammu and Kashmir Police lifted Kahana Dangal main title by overpowering Himachal Pradesh wrestler Johnny in a tough bout that lasted for twenty minutes in the mud Akhara in Kahana Panchayat of block Pouni, here today.
The Main bout was for RS 11,000, while in the second main bout Rehmat Ali defeated wrestler Ajay of Udhampur and won a cash award of Rs 10,000.
Forty wrestling bouts were held among the wrestlers hailing from Punjab, Himachal, Harayana, Delhi and locals of District Udhampur, Reasi and Rajouri.
Rakesh Khajuria Treasurer Jammu Kashmir wrestling Association  was the chief guest on the occasion who in his address while complimenting the organizers said the main aim of organizing the wrestling sport as a regular feature annually is to promote brotherhood, peace and prosperity in the society, besides focusing on the most demanding theme “Beti bachaaoo, Beti Paddaaoo aur beti ko khiladi banaaoo” in order to create an awareness among masses regarding participation if girls towards games and sports so that they can bring laurels for the state by following the suits of recent Olympic women wrestler Sakshi Malik and most popular Phogat Sisters.
Capt Ram Lal, Ajeet Kesar and Kailash Sharma former Sarpanches were the guests of honour.
Members of the Dangal committee including Ved Parkash, Ajay Seth, Daleep Kumar, Ajay Seth, Munna, Mustaffa, Jugal Magotra and Pankaj Sharma extended all support in smooth conduct of dangal.
