JAMMU, July 27: A general body meeting of All J&K Diploma Engineers Association, Jammu, was held today at Institute of Engineers, Gandhi Nagar, for a threadbare discussion over the issues confronting the cadre.
While addressing the meeting, Er Upinder Singh, president of the Association, condemned the callous attitude of the administration towards Diploma Engineers. He said that the Association has represented the present establishment a number of times for consideration of its long pending demands but no heed was paid to their issues. “The continuing apathy of administration towards Diploma Engineers has generated a great deal of resentment among the cadre who will resort to agitation if the administration continues to ignore them,” he warned.
While addressing the cadre, Er Anil Gupta, chairman of the Association, demanded implementation of Punjab pattern to avoid growing unrest among the cadre.
Er J S Rathore, convenor, while addressing, told the cadre that hurdles are being created by some vested interests in realization of the long pending demands. He also demanded immediate restoration of 65 number of left over posts of Assistant Engineers in favour of Diploma Engineers.
Others, who spoke on the occasion, included Er Rajesh Sharma, Er K C Raina, Er K K Sharma, Er Ram Lal, Er Arshad, Er Tanveer, Er Vinay, Er Irshad and Er Jaipal Sharma.
