Diploma engineers warn agitation

JAMMU, June 17: All J&K Diploma Engineers Association warned the Government to launch agitation in case of misadventure of eating up of the meager 20 % quota in promotions meant for diploma engineers at the level of AEE and Executive Engineers.
In a meeting of the Association held here today under the chairmanship of  Upinder Singh, president, the members expressed strong resentment for ignoring Diploma Engineers in the recently issued promotion list of AEEs in the PDD.
They asked the Government to fill up remaining 34 posts of AEEs from the Diploma cadre by adhering to the establishment cum selection committee report and recently issued directive from the High Court.
Upinder Singh also appealed the administration for immediately releasing 65 left over posts of Assistant Engineers in favour of Diploma engineers under career progression scheme on the analogy of PW (R&B) and Hyd Department.
Prominent among those present in the meeting included S C Goswami, Anil Gupta, J S Rathore, Narinder Singh, Vijay Sharma and Naresh Sawhney.
