SAMBA, May 21: Cultural Unit of the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), Jammu organized a symposium and painting competition on the topic “Nasha Mukt Bharat” at Government High School (GHS) Meen Sarkar, here today.
The event was organized to engage with the students and sought their views on the challenges posed by drug abuse. The students efficiently underlined the steps needed to be taken to combat drug abuse. They also presented skits, rap, poems, songs etc.
Students were judged on parameters of pronunciation, modulation of voice, factual representation, confidence etc. Manjeet Kour, Chander Prabha and Bhupinder Kour were the judges for the day.
Nisha Chadda (a teacher of the school), hosted the event. A total number of 10 students participated in the symposium. First position was secured by Priya, second position by Jafia and third position was bagged by Khushi.
In the painting competition, Sania, Madhu and Tania got first, second and third prizes, respectively.
Headmaster of the School, Bharat Prasad educated the students regarding the topic and lauded the DIPR for organizing the programme in the school.
The whole programme was conducted under the supervision of Cultural Officer Jammu, Nasir Ahmed Khan.
