Director Rajya Sainik Board calls on Army Commander

Udhampur, Mar 21:  Director Rajya Sainik Board Brig Harcharan Singh called on Lt Gen DS Hooda, Army Commander Northern Command to discuss various issues concerning welfare of the Ex-servicemen, martyrs and their families.
The brief content of their discussions included, liaison with Army formations, Ex-servicemen Contribution Health Scheme facilities, Unit Run Canteen facilities, establishment and working of Zila Sainik Welfare Offices, upkeep of facilities, checking of pensions and computerisation.
The Director appraised various steps being taken to pursue cases of welfare with the Centre and the State Governments. He apprised the Army Commander on various proactive steps being taken by the Army authorities to address the problems of Ex-servicemen.
The Army Commander emphasised on unity of efforts involving Civil Administration, Army authorities and Rajya Sainik Board to ensure early and faster finalisation of schemes connected with welfare of the serving and retired soldiers.
Rajya Sainik Board is responsible to help the Ex-servicemen in getting benefits of various welfare schemes and re-employment.
