JAMMU, Sept 13: Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Bhalwal has been declared as Model School by Director School Education Jammu.
GHSS Bhalwal today organized a function to felicitate its meritorious students on their astounding success in board exams as well as those who brought laurels to the school in sports.
Director School Education Jammu, Dr Ravi Shankar graced the occasion with his presence. Among other dignitaries present were Mamata Sharma, Deputy Director Planning, Directorate of Jammu, Devinder Singh Manhas, Deputy CEO Jammu, Raj Dev Singh Jamwal, Sarpanch Panchayat HQ Bhalwal and Inspector Khyati Maan Khajuria, SHO Gharota.
To commemorate the occasion, Dr. Ravi Shankar planted a tree in the botanical garden and then inspected the school. The event commenced with lighting of the lamp by him followed by Saraswati Vandana, which mesmerized everyone present on the occasion.
After presenting mementos as souvenir to the guests, Dr Kishor Sharma, Principal GHSS Bhalwal extended his warm welcome to the guests and others. He also presented the school report.
Students through speeches expressed their gratitude to the teachers and HOI for their earnest efforts to reach out to them in the difficult COVID times. In addition, the artistic performance of the students including dance and song held everyone spellbound. About 26 meritorious students were honored by DSEJ in different disciplines including academics and sports.
In his speech, Director declared GHSS Bhalwal as a Model School. He attributed this accolade received by the school to the tireless and sincere efforts of the Principal.
Speaking further on the occasion, Director showed firm belief that Principal Dr Kishor Sharma along with his dedicated staff will take this institution to the invincible heights.
In the end, vote of thanks was presented by Raj Dev Singh Jamwal, the Vice Chairman of SMDC. The function was compered by Dr Indu Sharma and Dr Priya Jitendra.
