Director Sports inaugurates Men’s Volleyball YSS Cup

JAMMU, Apr 1: Director Youth Services and Sports, Gazanfar Ali inaugurated Men’s Volleyball YSS Cup in an impressive and well attended function at Khel Gaon, Nagrota, near here today.
The Director Sports was the chief guest on the occasion, while Joint Director (K) Youth Services and Sports, Bashir Ahmed and Deputy Director Youth Services and Sports, Jitender Mishra were the guests of honour.
Around 200 players from all 20 districts of the Union Territory are taking part in this event which is being held under the supervision of District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Jammu, Sukhdev Raj Sharma. On the inaugural day, eight district teams got the better of their rivals and emerged winners.
In today’s matches, District Jammu outplayed District Udhampur by 2-0 (25-14; 25-14); District Kulgam prevailed over District Reasi by 2-0 (25-12; 25-22); District Rajouri trounced District Ramban by 2-0 (25-17; 25-21); District Samba defeated District Kupwara by 2-0 (25-22; 25-18); District Doda got the better of District Bandipora by 2-0 (25-16; 25-10); District Anantnag beat District Baramulla by 2-0 (25-18; 25-15); District Poonch drubbed District Kulgam by 2-0 (25-23; 25-11) and District Ramban overpowered District Kishtwar by 2-0 (25-09; 25-22).
Earlier, the chief guest interacted with the players and motivated them to do better in the future events.
