67th National School Games (Fencing)
*Registration completed, 324 fencers to view for top honours

JAMMU, Nov 19: The registration of the Fencers has been completed and the equipments have been finalized after Director Youth Services and Sports, Subash Chander Chibber in presence of other officers of the Department chaired the meetings and reviewed the arrangements for 67th National School Games in the discipline of Fencing, which will be inaugurated at Gymnasium Hall, University of Jammu, here tomorrow.
According to the Field Officer of 67th National School Games in Fencing deputed by the School Games Federation of India (SGFI), Kanhiya Gurjar the players and officials of 30 teams drawn from across the country have been registered on SGFI Website today.
“A total of 324 fencers have been registered including 164 boys and 160 girls,” said Mr Ravi Sharma, Deputy Director (Planning), who convened the meeting of technical officials in the presence of Sukhdev Raj Sharma, DYSSO Jammu; Reyaz Ahmed, SO Plan; Rashid Ahmed, Technical Director of Games, Kanhiya and Ujjwal Gupta, Technical Manager of Games.
Earlier, the Director Youth Services and Sports chaired a meeting of Managers, Coaches of various teams and Liaison Officers of various committees and after getting inputs from them served them instructions with regard to successful conduct of the Games. He advised them to work as a cohesive unit, which he said is the ‘mantra’ to success.
At the lodging centres, the Director Sports interacted with the players and officials of various States, who were all praise for the arrangements. Chibber assured them of a comfortable stay and better facilities. It is pertinent to mention here that these Games are being organized by the Directorate of YS & Sports J&K, under the auspices of the School Games Federation of India.
