Disha, Mehraj clinch gold at 4th World Sqay C’ship

JAMMU, Nov 10: Disha Pandith and Mir Arsalan Mehraj have brought immense pride to India and J&K by winning gold medals at the 4th World Sqay Championships held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Their exceptional performances on the global stage have garnered widespread appreciation, highlighting their dedication and skill in the traditional martial art of Sqay.
In recognition of their achievements, the champions were felicitated by Dr Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, and Sujata Chaturvedi, Secretary of Sports, who presented them with tokens of appreciation for their outstanding contributions to Sqay and for representing India with distinction.
Upon their return to Jammu and Kashmir, Disha and Mir were warmly welcomed by the President of the Jammu and Kashmir Sqay Association, who expressed pride in their accomplishments. “This achievement fills us with immense pride,” said the president. “We are incredibly proud of both athletes, and the Association will continue to provide full support for their future endeavours.”
