JAMMU, Aug 10: Displaced employees of various departments have demanded release of their cash in lieu benefits in full at the time of their superannuation as is case with other regular employees of J&K UT.
In a joint statement Ashok Ganjoo, president Displaced Irrigation and Flood Control Employees Forum and Dr Manoj Nazir president Agriculture Displaced Employees Welfare Association (ADEWA) have made an appeal to Lt. Governor, Manoj Sinha in this regard and sought his intervention in the matter.
The statement said that displaced employees at the time of superannuation are put to huge loss as they are deprived of cash in lieu benefits in full putting them to a huge loss for no fault of theirs.
They said that despite the Ministry of Home Affairs repeated reminders to the J&K Government in this regard no headway has been made in the matter and plight of thousands of displaced employees who attained the superannuation over the years and who are going to be superannuated in future has not changed.
They said the issue was taken up by the leaders of various displaced employees bodies and migrant organizations with the Governments both at Centre and in the erstwhile State as well but to no avail. They urged the LG to look into the file which is pending with the UT Government and issue the necessary orders in this regard as the GOI in principal has agreed the demand and has sought the clarifications from UT Government.
