Displaced KPs pin high hopes on new coalition

JAMMU, Mar 4:A meeting of Jagti Welfare Committee was held today under the chairmanship of Chand Ji  which took stock of the present political scenario of the State and expressed hope BJP-PDP Coalition will address long pending  grievances’ of Kashmiri Pandits.
While addressing the meeting Pintoo Ji, president of the Committee said it is very unfortunate on the part of the political parties that no representation has been given to K Ps, being the minority.
He said since all the political parties of the State have ignored the KPs and their burning and important issues like, Immediate and early permanent settlement and rehabilitation at a single place in Kashmir valley, constituting of KP Development Council to look- after and monitor the funds being given by GoI for the development and welfare of the KPs, declaration of Migrant camps as notified areas, upgradation of medical facilities and schools of the camp, establishing  of Industrial Training Institute (ITI)  and Degree College for KPs at Jagti, simplification of medical assistance procedure to ailing persons, health insurance, 25 lakh interest free loan to averaged youth, issuing of RBA certificates, Govt should uplift the standard of life of KPs at their present places especially of camps, removal of Illegal encroachment of religious place and KPs land  , release of balance exgratia along with interest.
He also demanded compensation of left over property, special recruitment drive in Police Department and passage of Shrine Bill,
He said, though PDP-BJP coalition has not reflected any issue of KPs in their Common Minimum Programme (CMP), still we have great expectations and high hopes from the new coalition Govt.
In his address, Veer Ji Belove Chairman (JMWC) appealed all the community members to be united and highlight and project the community problems with one voice.
