Display Your Talent: Competition of Essay, Short Story writing held

JAMMU,  Sept 24:  The fourth day of  `Display Your Talent-2016-17′,  organized by the Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu, was dedicated to literary activities and  two events; Essay Writing & Short Story Writing’ were conducted today.
In Essay Writing competition, around 60 students from different colleges, institutes and departments of the University of Jammu participated. Dr  Shashi Prabha was the Teacher In-Charge of the event. The topic given to the students for Essay Writing was ‘Importance of Media’.
In Short Story Writing, 40 students participated. Dr  Shayam Narayan Lal was the Teacher In-Charge of the event. The participants were supposed to write a story of not more than 1500 words on the following topics; Communal Harmony, Heritage of India and India in 21st Century. The story could be written in Hindi, English, Dogri, Urdu or Punjabi. The results of  both the events would be declared at the valedictory function.
The event was coordinated by Dr  A R  Manhas (Assistant Dean SW),   Ifra Kak (Cultural Officer) and  Sumeet Sharma (Drama Instructor). Hemant Magotra and Mohd. Asif Lone did the Hall Management.
On Monday, September 26, 2016, the events of Mime, Mimicry and Mono Acting shall be conducted at Brig  Rajinder Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu from 10 am onwards.
