JAMMU, Nov 12: The Display Your Talent 2024 – Devika Zone (Udhampur-Reasi), hosted by Udhampur Campus, University of Jammu (JU), was inaugurated today. Organized by the Department of Students Welfare, JU, this two-day cultural event celebrates student creativity across 25 competitions, including music, dance, literary arts, fine arts, quiz and debate.
In inaugural event, Prem Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur was chief guest while Prof. Monika Chadha, Chairperson, Campus Cultural Committee, JU and Prof. Sarika Manhas, co-Chairperson were special guests.
Speaking on the occasion, Rector of Udhampur Campus, Prof. Yash Pal Sharma highlighted the participation of over 150 students from various affiliated colleges.
Prof. Monika Chadha discussed the new format of the event, which is divided across five zones of Jammu province.
Prof. Sarika Manhas encouraged the participants to showcase their best.
In first day of the event Observers included Dr. Jyoti Sharma, Dr. Sarabjeet Kour and Dr. Rajbir Singh, members of the Campus Cultural Committee.
On day one in Light Vocal (Solo) competition, students from Govt Degree College (GDC) Udhampur excelled, securing the 1st and 3rd prizes, while GDC Woman Udhampur claimed the 2nd position.
Poster making category awarded 3rd prize to Oshin from Udhampur Campus. In Cartooning, Rahul from GDC Udhampur took 1st prize, followed by Pankaj from Udhampur Campus in 2nd place and Bhumika Sharma from GDC Woman, Udhampur in 3rd.
For Group Song (Indian), GDC Woman Udhampur emerged victorious with 1st prize, while 2nd Prize went to GDC Udhampur again and 3rd prizes to Udhampur Campus.
Quiz category saw GDC Udhampur winning the 1st prize, Udhampur Campus the 2nd and GDC Woman Udhampur the 3rd.
In Photography, Shivansh Bhogal from GDC Udhampur claimed top prize.
Rangoli competition awarded 1st place to Nidhmaan Arya from GDC Chenani, 2nd to Oshin from Udhampur Campus, and 3rd to Anishika from GDC Udhampur. Lastly, Mehndi competition awarded Mahima from GDC Ramnagar with 1st prize, Simran from Udhampur Campus with 2nd and Mahi Verma from GDC Udhampur with 3rd prize.
All zonal-level Display Your Talent events were organized under the leadership of Prof. Prakash C. Antahal, Dean Students Welfare.
The event began with welcome note by Reya Sharma and concluded with vote of thanks by Dr. Kamini Dutta.
The events were coordinated by Dr. Kamini Dutta, Dr. Ritika Sambyal, Taruna Dubey, Nikhil Khajuria, Dr. Jyotsna, Dr. Sunita Kumari, Dr. Maliha Batool, Dr. Som Raj, Dr. Jyoti Sharma, Dr. Prerna Katoch and Riya Mahajan along with non-teaching staff and participating students.
