SRINAGAR, Dec 21: The two days District Srinagar Athletics Championship, organised by J&K Amateur Athletics Association in collaboration with J&K Sports Council, concluded at Gindun Ground Rajbagh, here today.
About 200 Athletes both boys and girls participated. Tanushree, IPS SDPO Kothibagh was the chief guest at the concluding ceremony. She distributed medals and certificates to the winners, whereas Mushtaq Ahmad Zargar, Manager Gindun Ground, Sajjad Ahmad SHO Kothibagh, Sameer Ahmad SHO Ragbagh, Reyaz Ahmad Dar, organizing secretary of the championship were also present during the closing ceremony.
The chief guest lauded the efforts of the organizers in successfully organizing the meet. She said that more young boys and girls should participate in such events and excel at national and international level and stay away from social evils.
In under-14 600 mtrs boys, Obaid Rashid, Imran Mushtaq and Mohd Quaid stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively while in under-16, 300 mtrs girls, Sara Naqsh, Insha Manzoor and Mahreen Mushtaq bagged 1st, 2nd and 3rd places respectively.
In under-16, 800 mtrs boys, Aaqib Hameed, Shahnawaz Suliman and Aasif Yousaf got 1st, 2nd and 3rd places respectively, whereas under-18, 800 mtrs boys, Zubair Ahmad, Nazir Ali & Shabir Ahmad Sofi clinched 1st, 2nd and 3rd places resepectively and in under-18, 1500 mtrs boys, Sahil Bashir, Muntazir Mehraj and Shabir Ahmad stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd places respectively.
In under-18, 400 mtrs boys, the 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions were bagged by Sahil Bashir, Zubair Ahmad and Aadil Bashir respectively, whereas in under-20, 400 mtrs women, Iqra Mushtaq, Ifshana Ashraf & Misbah Nasir clinched 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively.
In under-20 400 mtrs men, Aadil Fayaz, Muzin Qadir & Niyaz Najer clinched 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively while, in under-20, 200 mtrs women, Iqra Mushtaq, Ifshana Ashraf and Tahreen Hameed bagged 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.
In open 5000 mtrs men, 1st, 2nd and 3rd places were clinched by Muneer Ahmad, Muzamil Hussain and Suhail Farooq respectively, while in open 1500 mtrs men, Muneer Ahmad, Muzamil Hussain and Suhail Farooq stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.
In open 400 mtrs men, Suhail Nissar, Mohd Aaqib and Muzamil Ashraf bagged 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively, while in open 200 mtrs men, Suhail Nissar, Aasif Ali Bhat and Mudasir Bhat stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively.
