KATHUA, Mar 24: Kathua District Boxing Championship was held by J&K Amateur Boxing Association under the aegis of Boxing Federation of India, J&K Olympic Association and sponsored by J&K Sports Council in newly constructed Boxing Ring at Sports Stadium Kathua.
Er. Sandeep Majotra was the Chief Guest on the occasion who distributed the medals to the meritorious boxers. The Championship was conducted under the supervision of National Level Technical Officials including Sandeep Singh Chib, Rajnish Sharma, Goutam Kumar, Naresh Kumar, Saleem Khan.
The different categories results were in Junior Boys (46 to 48 KG Weight Category); Rishi Lalotra won Gold and Lalit Khajuria won Silver medal. In junior boys (54 to 57 KG Weight Category; Harshit Juneja won Gold and Dheeraj Kumar won silver medal while in the Sub-Junior Girls (37 to 40KG Weight Category) Manvi Rajput won Gold and Khushi won silver medal. youth boys; Talib Husain won gold. In youth girls Jyoti won Gold Medal. In senior elite men (46-49kg) Ranjeet Singh won Gold. Senior elite men (54-57kg) Sunny won gold. Senior Elite Men (60-63.5kg) Mohd. Rizwan won gold. Senior Elite Men (75-80kg); Chandan Sharma won gold. Senior Elite Women (48-50 KG) Vanita won Gold and in Senior Elite Women (70-75 Kg) Kajal Devi won Gold Medal.
