District Chess C’ship concludes

RAJOURI, July 5: Rajouri District Chess Championship concluded here today which was organized by All J&K Chess Association (AJKCA) in support of Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council (JKSC) and District Chess Association Rajouri at Higher Secondary School Sawani Rajouri.
The event was conducted by Neha Dutta and Rakesh Singh as per the latest FIDE laws of Chess, in which Rakshak Kumar shined in under-19 age category and Viraj Raina excelled in under -14 age category.
In boys under-19 category, Rakshak Kumar came first, 2nd position went to Navdeep Singh and third position to Sunny Sharma. In under-17 boys; Krish Khajuria got the position, 2nd position to Akshay Kumar and 3rd position to Sajjad Ahmed. In under-17 girls, 1st position went to Pihu Bhardwaj, 2nd position to Akriti Sharma and Kremica Saraf came on 3rd position.
In under-14 boys, Viraj Raina came first, 2nd position to Ayush Bakshi and 3rd position to Anshu Sharma. Headmaster High School Sawani, Nirmal Kumar was the chief guest at the closing ceremony along with Balvinder Singh (PEM), Sahil Raina PET, Katten Sharma and Neha Dutta District General secretary Chess Association Rajouri.
