District Doda dominates day-2 of U-14 girls Kho-Kho Tournament

REASI, May 21: Winning their both the matches to advance in the competition, District Doda girls dominated day-2 of the ongoing State Level Inter-District Kho-Kho Under-14 Girls Tournament being organized the Department of Youth Services and Sports, under the patronage of its Director General, Navin Agarwal and under the overall Supervision of Dr Swaran Singh Chib, DYSSO, Reasi, here.
Kuldeep Raj, Assistant Controller, Department of Metrology, was the special guest on the occasion, who interacted with the players and boosted their morale for competing in this State sporting event with valour, zeal, enthusiasm and sporting spirit, while P D Sharma, Principal of the venue institution was there to extend his unreserved assistance and cooperation to the organizers.
Earlier, Doda drubbed Rajouri by (9-5) points and got better of Shopian by (10-2) points in an easy contest.
In other matches of the day,  Samba defeated Kulgam by (7-2) points, Jammu got better of Baramulla by (8-5), Rajouri registered a thrilling win over Anantnag by (3-2) points and Udhampur thrashed Budgam by one innings and 5 points.
The championship was declared open by Additional Superintendent of Police Reasi, Sanjay S Rana in an impressive and colourful function yesterday,  who emphasized the importance of sports and games for the budding players.
Around 400 players drawn from 17 districts of the State are taking part in the Tournament, which is being officiated by a panel of experts from the Department of Youth Services and Sports. The officiating panel included Rakesh Kakkar, Hameeda Bano, Tarsem Singh, Ajmer Singh, Narayan Singh, Ramesh Chander, Ajay Kumar, Sanjeev Kumar, Saroj Bala and Ashok Kumari.
