JAMMU, July 27: The three days-long 8th District Jammu Handball Championship in Senior, Junior (Boys and Girls) held at the Playfield Shastri Nagar Jammu concluded, here today.
The Championship was organized by Handball Association Jammu in collaboration with J&K Handball Association and Sponsored by J&K Sports Council.
Arun Bangotra, Principal Government Polytechnic, Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion, who interacted with the teams and exhorted them to play the game earnestly with true sportsmanship. He also distributed prizes among the winners and runners-up teams. He said J&K is rich in sports talent and sportspersons from here have proven their mettle at different national and international championships.
The organizing secretary of the tournament was Ashwani Kumar Raina. The final match in the girls section was played between Bahu Club and R.L Pissu in which Bahu Club emerged winners by 8-2 goals. In the boys section, the final match was played between STC Jammu and R.L Pissu in which STC Jammu emerged victorious by 24-20 goals. The matches were officiated by Richa Mandela, Kashish Baru, Sulekha and Anu. The other members of JKHA were also present on the occasion.
