JAMMU, Sept 29: District Jammu won Under-14 and Under-17 boys titles in the State Level Inter District Table Tennis Competition, which concluded at Indoor Hall, M A Stadium, here today.
The tournament was organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports as a part of annual calendar of sports activities, under the patronage of Jahangir Mir, Director General Youth Services and Sports J&K State and under the overall supervision of Madan Lal, Jt. Director and Sukhdev Raj Sharma, DYSSO Jammu.
Later on, Sukhdev Raj distributed the medals among the winners and runners-up teams.
Earlier, in Table Tennis Under-14 boys final, Jammu District beat Poonch by 3-1. Ojaswin Gupta of Jammu lost to Anuj Dutta of Poonch by 5-11,6-11, Hanumat Sharma of Jammu prevailed over Safwan Khan of Poonch by 11-5,11-7, Sudikshant of Jammu defeated Shukullah of Poonch by 11-7,11-8 and Hanumat Sharma of Jammu got better of Anuj Dutta of Poonch by 11-7, 7-11 and 11-8, while in Table Tennis Under-17 boys, Jammu District outplayed Poonch by 3-1. Manandeep Singh of Jammu trounced Bhanu Lekh Dutta of Poonch by 11-6, 11-7, Arnab of Jammu lost to Faizal Mir of Poonch by 11-15, 5-11, Ketan Sharma of Jammu thrashed Baljeet Singh of Poonch by 11-7, 11-6 and Manandeep Singh of Jammu outplayed Faizal Mir of Poonch by 11-8 and 12-10.
Meanwhile, in Table Tennis Under-19 boys, Poonch drubbed Udhampur by 3-0. Parpkar Singh of Poonch beat Neeraj Singh of Udhampur by 11-6, 11-4, Vishab Kapoor of Poonch outclassed Nipun Mahajan of Udhampur by 11-6, 6-11, 11-9 and Jatin Chadda of Poonch defeated Sahil Malgotra of Udhampur by 11-7 and 11-8.
The matches were officiated by Anju Gupta, Narinder Singh, Ravish Vaid, Mulk Raj Sharma, Gourav Sharma, Vishal Bharti, Amit Kalsi, Mahadev Singh and Rattan Lal.
