UT level mega Athletic meet concludes

JAMMU, Feb 15: UT level mega Athletic meet for girls under 14, 17 and 19 age groups, organised by Department of Youth Services and Sports, concluded at New University Campus Ground, here today.
The host District Jammu remained overall champion of the mega Athletic event.
Director School Education Jammu, Anu Radha Gupta and Director General, Youth Services and Sports J&K UT were special guests of the event who distributed trophies and meritorious certificates among the winners in the presence of Vijay Kumar, Chief Education Officer Jammu and DYSSO Jammu.
In under-19 years girls category, Mamta Choudhary of District Jammu, Shamona Begum of District Udhampur and Jimmo Devi of District Kathua secured top three positions respectively in 400 mtrs event, whereas 3000 mtrs, Shamshad Bano of District Jammu, Nazia Bano of District Ganderbal and Shaheena of District Kulgam won 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively and in triple jump, top three positions were clinched by Samriti of District Samba, Chandha Chib of District Jammu and Mehvish Zia of District Ganderbal respectively.
In under-17 girls, Sajeena Manzoor of District Kulgam, Sakshi Devi of District Samba and Mukthya Bibi of District Udhampur bagged top three positions respectively in 1500 mtrs, whereas in 400 mtrs, Arti Devi of District Udhampur, Parveen Akthar of District Jammu and Sahiba Gulzar of District Pulwama clinched top three positions respectively and in javelin throw, Rozu Begum of District Kathua, Sumedha of District Jammu and Riya Anand of District Reasi won top three positions respectively.
In triple jump, 1st and 2nd positions were won by Adfar Jan of District Bandipora, Insha Farooq of District Ganderbal, whereas in 400 mtrs relay, Rinki Tomar of District Jammu, Ayushi Bhat of District Jammu, Sidhani of District Jammu and Manpreet of District Jammu shared first position and Babli of District Samba, Isha of District Samba, Sunita of District Samba and Sakshi of District Doda shared 2nd position besides Tanu of District Udhampur, Anju of District Udhampur, Arti of District Udhampur and Shabena of District Udhampur shared 3rd position.
In under-14years, top three positions were secured by Gurdev Kour of District Jammu, Mamta Devi of District Udhampur and Sumekha Kumar of District Reasi respectively.
The matches were officiated by penal of experts of the department concerned.
