District Jammu Wrestling Championship concludes

JAMMU, Nov 5: District Jammu Wrestling Championship concludes at Indoor Sports Complex, Judo Hall, MA Stadium, here today.
The championship was organized by District Jammu Wrestling Association under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir Wrestling Association and sponsored by J&K State Sports Council.
Twenty five Wrestlers representing various Wrestling clubs/JKAP Wrestling team under different weight categories as per WFI guidelines participated in the day-long event.
Shamsher Singh Manhas, Member Parliament, Rajya Sabha was the chief guest on the occasion, while Ravi Baru, M/S Awadh Travels Jammu, Krishan Lal, retired Chief Sports Officer were the guests of honour, who distributed prizes, medals and certificates among the participating Wrestlers.
Speaking on the occasion, Shamsher asked the youth to actively participate in physical activities like Wrestling, the game of cultural heritage and bring laurels for the state.
The bouts were officiated by the team of technical officials namely Mulakh Raj Sharma NIS (Mat Chairman), Bansi Lal Tidyal (Director Competition) and Sanjeev Kumar Sharma (Record Manager).
The event was organized under the overall supervision of Rakesh Khajuria, General Secretary ISWA and Inderjeet Khajuria, President District Jammu Wrestling Association.
The Championship Trophy was won by Jammu Kashmir Armed Police Wrestling Team.
Krishan Singh NIS, Om  Parkash NIS, Bulkaar Singh and Ranga Pehalwan were the technical officials.
