District Judo C’ship organised

JAMMU, Apr 4: District Jammu Judo Championship was organised at MA Stadium, here today wherein Deputy Mayor Purnima Sharma was the chief guest.
The chief guest along with guest of honour, Bhanu Partap, international medallist honoured the winners with medals and certificates in presence of prominent persons including Vikas Gupta vice president Judo Federation of India, Suraj Sharma, Hony general secretary and Manish Chatwal, organizing secretary.
Suraj Bhan Singh, Arshi Nad, Ritika Slathia and Romeshwar Singh Jamwal were the officials of the championship which was organised under the banner of J&K Sports Council and J&K Olympic Association.
In boys 55 kg, first two medals were won by Akshay Sharma and Rahul, while Sunil Rajput and Shubam Singh secured bronze medals, while in 60 kg, Mohit Kumar and Saksham Sagar stood 1st and 2nd and in 66 kg, Akshay Sharma and Shubam won top two medals respectively, besides in 73 kg, Aryan Gupta and Farmaan Ahmad won gold and silver, whereas in 81kg, Diwakar Singh stood 1st and in 109 kg , Lakhan Bharu and Vishal remained 1st and 2nd. In plus 100 kg, Mohd Adil stood first.
In girl’s category 44 kg, Khushi Thakur and Payal Kashap stood 1st and 2nd, while Guddi Kumari and Mamta Malik won bronze medals, while in 48 kg, Leisha Gupta and Kanishka Kesar stood 1s and 2nd and in 52 kg, top three medals were won by Upasana Singh, Sunakshi Devi and Harishita Singh respectively, besides in 57 kg, Sakshi and Priya Sharma won top two medals, while in 63 kg, first two medals were clinched by Maithili Kotwal and Shriya Kotwal and in 70 kg, Nirali Sharma stood 1st.
In 78 kg, Suhani Kiran remained 1st, while in plus 78 kg, Rajeshwar Kotwal bagged the top medal.
