KATHUA, Jan 17: The 2-day long District Kathua Judo Championship, organized by Jammu and Kashmir Judo Association, held under the auspices of J&K State Sports Council and J&K Olympic Association concluded at DAV Senior Secondary School, here today.
Over 100 judokas drawn from all over the district participated in the Championship, in which Santosh Mahajan, Director MHS DAV Sr Sec School Kathua was the chief guest on the valedictory function, while the prizes were distributed by Vikas Gupta, secretary J&K Judo Association and joint secretary Judo Federation of India.
The bouts were officiated by Suraj Bhan Singh, Jugal Kishore, Shakti Gupta and Sandeep Sharma, while Ravi Gupta from Kathua District Judo Association was the guest of honour.
The gold medal winners in various categories included Sparsh, Abhishek Kumar, Irfan Khan, Sidharth Verma, Alankrit Patyal, Anirudh, Sudhanshu, Abhishek Sharma, Paaru Dev Singh, Vishwajeet Singh, Gaurav Sharma, Yuvraj Singh, Sunil, Sahil Dogra, Pushap Thakur, Arjun, Raman Sharma and Manisha Devi, while the silver medals went to Lakshay, Krishan Dev, Aditya, Harmanjeet Singh, Krishna, Shubam Gupta, Ashdeep Singh, Aatish Andotra, Vivek Andotra, Shurya Jasrotia, Aditya Mishra, Vishest Thakur, Joginder Paul, Raghunandan, Amit, Ankush Paral, Raksh Vardha and Dolly Devi.
