KATHUA, Sept 15: District Kathua Volleyball Championship for Under-19 boys got underway at the Volleyball ground of Bhagwan Parshuram Dham, Gurah Mundian, Hiranagar, near here today.
The tournament was inaugurated by Kabir Sahni, General Manager Phosphorous Limited Samba.
22 teams drawn from far flung areas of Kathua District including Basohli and Bani are participating in the tournament. 12 matches were played today which were witnessed by a large number of people.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were RR Choksey, president M/s Cadila Pharmaceuticals Samba, besides Sarpanchs and Panchs of the area.
The tournament is being organized by the District Volleyball Association Kathua, under the aegis of J&K Volleyball Association.
Meanwhile, today’s matches were officiated by Mohinder Kumar, Attar Singh, Madan Lal and Surat Singh.
