UDHAMPUR, July 31: Two days Udhampur District Kickboxing Championship, organised by Udhampur District Kickboxing Association under the aegis of Kickboxing Association J&K dully affiliated with WAKO India Kickboxing Federation, concluded at Town Hall, here today.
Sahil Mahajan DySP Headquarters was the chief guest of the event. He congratulated and appreciated the efforts of the committee for organizing such an event.
The championship was organised under the chairmanship of Abhishek Jain general secretary Kickboxing Championship J&K and under the supervision of Sunil Magotra general secretary Udhampur District Kickboxing Association.
Prominent persons including Ashok Sharma, vice president J&K Kabaddi Association; Manmeet Singh president Kargil Martyrs Club; Sanjay Sharma and Vinod Dogra (Veteran sportsmen), while Pawan Jamwal and Rajnish Sharma were present during the event.
All the bouts were officiated under the technical guidance of Danish Padha, Technical Director Kickboxing Association J&K along with Deepanshu Gupta referee, Himanshu Shekhar, Nitin Rathore, Rishi Kumar Sharma, Vipin Photra, Ravi Kumar and Anshu Brat Khanna (Officials of DYSS Department Udhampur)
The organizing committee also honoured the Udhampur boys who won medals in recently held National Kickboxing Championship at Kolkata West Bengal including Simran Magotra (Silver Medallist) and Shivansh Sharma (Bronze Medallist).
In the end the medals were distributed to the winners and runner-up participants.
In girls category, Sanvi Kalra, Vanshika Bharti, Bhumika Sharma, Aashvi Sharma, Manya Sharma and Samridhi won Gold medals each in under-32, 37, 42, 47, 54, and 50 respectively, while Somya Sharma secured Silver in under 50 kg.
In boys category, Mohd Ashiq Bali, Siddharth Sharma, Mohit, Pankaj Sharma and Kulvinder Karlopia clinched Gold medal each in under-58, 62, 66 and 72 kg respectively, while Shivansh Rajput (Silver), Munish Kumar (Bronze) and Vasu Sharma claimed (Bronze) in under 46 kg.
In under-50 kg, Pushpinder Singh (Gold), Saksham Singh (Silver) and Arpit Sanyal (Bronze), whereas in under 54 kg junior, Simran Magotra (Gold), Atvaz Ali (Silver) and Ankush Sharma won (Bronze).
