BANDIPORA, Mar 13: District Kickboxing Championship Bandipora was inaugurated by District Development Commissioner, Owais Ahmad as chief guest in presence of Padma Shri Faisal Ali at Sheri-Kashmir Stadium Bandipora, here today.
Nearly 170 boys and girls from different villages, schools and clubs are participating in this championship.
The Deputy Commissioner Bandipora in his address applauded the initiative of District Kickboxing Association for organizing the first Kickboxing Championship in the district in this year. He also said that by this championship youths of the district will exhibit their talent and hone their skills.
The DC also highlighted the importance of sports for overall development and applauded the students for their efforts and encouraged them to make the best use of such a platform to display their talents. He also lauded the role of organisers of such events which are playing a vital role in identifying the budding talent from far flung areas of Bandipora.
He proposed all the required support from District Administration in future also, as and when such programmes will be conducted.
The DC assured that in future we will do our best for the construction of Indoor Sports Complex in main town Bandipora, so that indoor sports activities can be organised without any problems.
