KULGAM, Jan 7: The District Kulgam Wushu Championship 2024 kicked off at Ayesha Ali Academy, Kulgam, with a poignant tribute to the late Syed Muzamil, the Secretary of District Wushu Kulgam Association, who tragically passed away before the event. The opening ceremony was graced by the Manager of J&K Sports Council, Syed Muzamil’s sister, the Headmistress of Ayesha Ali Academy and the dedicated members of the District Wushu Kulgam Association.
With 178 participants, including 63 girls and 115 boys from 12 schools and FFC Kulgam, the tournament stands as a testament to the growth of Wushu in the region. The event will conclude on January 8, continuing Syed Muzamil’s vision of fostering unity, strength, and sportsmanship within the Kulgam Wushu community.
The District Wushu Kulgam Association extended gratitude to mentors Kuldeep Handoo, Maqsoor Rather, Aijaz Hassan, and Aaqib Majeed for their unwavering support. This championship is not just a competition—it is a living tribute to a leader whose passion for Wushu continues to inspire the community.
