District Kupwara Taekwondo C’ship concludes

KUPWARA, Dec 23: District Kupwara Taekwondo Championships 2024-25 concluded today at the JKSC Indoor Sports Hall in Handwara, Kupwara. The two-day event organized by the Taekwondo Association of District Kupwara under the aegis of J&K Taekwondo Association and J&K Sports Council (JKSC) as part of the “My Youth, My Pride” initiative, saw remarkable participation from over 150 players from various schools and clubs across the district.
The event was headed by Kehkashan Bashir, Secretary of the Taekwondo Association of District Kupwara, with Javid Ahmed serving as the Organizing Secretary. The technical team, which played a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth conduct of the championship, was led by Shah Faisal Ali, Owais ul Islam, Anus Muneer, Sadaf Ayoub, and Tahzeeba Jan.
Medical support during the championship was managed by Kaisar Ahmad, ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants. AR Malik, President of the Taekwondo Association of District Kupwara was chief guest extended his congratulations to all the participants and emphasized the importance of such championships in fostering a strong sporting culture in the region. The guest of honour, Mohd Shafi, Owner of Gym Khana Kupwara, also shared his appreciation for the athletes and organizers.
The event was further honoured by the presence of special guests Naidha, Kabaddi Coach and Ajaz Hassan, Wushu Coach at KIC Handwara, who both praised the efforts of the Taekwondo Association and the players for their determination and sportsmanship.
