REASI, July 31: The District Level Inter School competition in the age group of Under-19 boys section in the disciplines of Volleyball, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho and Wrestling was inaugurated at Zorawar Singh Sports Complex, here today.
In the competition, 257 boys drawn from 18 Higher Secondary Schools of the District participated in this competition.
Jeet Singh, District Youth Services & Sports Officer Reasi was the chief guest on the occasion, who while speaking threw light on the various schemes beneficial for empowerment of youth.
The tournament is being organised as part of Annual Sports Calendar by the District Youth Services & Sports Officer Reasi under the overall supervision of Dr Saleem- ur-Rehman, Director General Youth Services and Sports J&K.
Chiter Lekhka, ZPEO Reasi presented the vote of thanks.
The matches were officiated by Jagdev Singh, Naresh Kumar, Rakesh Sharma, Ajay Wadhera, Goutam Koundal, Avinash and Shamim Akhter.
In Volleyball Under-19 boys final, HSS Laiter beat HSS Pouni by 2-1 points. The set scores were 25-21, 11-25, 25-21.
The gold medal winners in various categories of Wrestling included Pappu Ram of HSS Gota, Shiv Om Charak of HSS Pouni, Asif Ali of HSS Reasi and Deepak Singh of HSS Dharmari.
In Kabaddi Under-19 boys final, HSS Reasi beat HSS Pouni by 3 points, while in Kho-Kho Under-19 boys final, Boys HSS Reasi beat HSS Bharakh by 6 points. The final scores were 18-12.
