JAMMU, Dec 18: District Level Sambo Championship organized by Shastri Memorial School Patoli in collaboration with J&K Sambo Association commenced in the school premises.
Managing Director of the School Ravinder Gupta, Principal kr Kharu, Suraj Bhan Singh, Ranjodh Singh, Munish Chatwal, besides many others were present on the occasion.
In Sub-Junior girls (45 kg category), Ashwina Bhat and Niharika Sharma bagged first and second positions respectively, whereas the third position was shared by Tanuja, Tajinnder Kour and Yashivi.
In 50 kg category, Tanisha Jamwal and Sarita bagged first and second positions respectively, while Sakshi and Sarita shared third position.
18 kg category, Manvi Thakur and Tanisha Gupta secured first and second positions respectively, while the third position was shared by Nagampreet Kour and Kamakshi.
In Sub-Junior boys, Virat Mangotra and Sunil bagged first and second positions respectively, while the third position was shared by Sumer Pratap Singh and Vansh Jamwal.
Earlier, the three day long tournament was declared open by chief guest Vikas Gupta, Joint Secretary, Judo Federation of India. Around 250 Sambo players of Jammu district are taking participate in this championship.
The bouts were officiated by Komal Gupta, Kunal Sharma and Komita Gupta.
