JAMMU, Mar 2: Two-days District level Thangtha Championship, organized by J&K Thangtha Association, concluded here today at Paloura.
Hari Singh Chib, president DCC Rural was the chief guest while Uday Bhanu Chib, president JKPYC was the guest of honour.
Perfect Foundation Public School clinched the 1st runner-up trophy, while Jai Gulta Club and Academy of Tanisha- Do bagged 2nd runner up and 3rd runner-up trophies respectively.
In below 48 kg category, Sunil won Gold medal, whereas Nakul secured Silver medal and Deepak and Vishal Kumar clinched Bronze medals, whereas in below 52 kg, Gold and Silver medals were won by Sushant Singh and Mohd. Hafeez while Tayuv Hussain and Shivam Bhagat clinched Bronze medals besides in above 65 kg, Aryan Singh bagged Gold medal.
In below 54 kg, Sumit, Kartik and Naresh bagged top three medals respectively, whereas in below 57 kg, Gold and Silver medals were secured by Aman Verma and Karan Bali respectively while Haris and Zakir won Bronze medals.
In Girls under–14 (below 36 kg), Janvi Sharma won Gold medal, whereas Riya Sharma secured Silver medal and Manvi Sharma and Tejaswani Singh clinched Bronze medals, while in below 25 kg, Gold medal was won by Kriti Bhagat besides in below 45 kg, Gold, Sliver and Bronze medals were clinched by Manpreet, Radhika and Nysa Raina respectively.
In below 50 kg girls, Akriti, Samriti and Sargam secured Gold, Silver and Bronze medals, whereas in below 55 kg Gold and Silver medals were won by Aliza and Simran, and in below 58 kg, Jayawardhan won Silver while Shivani Charak secured Gold medal besides in below 24 kg Boys under-14 category, Chandan bagged Gold medal, Rajyawardhan won Silver and Ashu clinched Bronze medal.
In below 30 kg, Gold and Silver medals were bagged by Hardik and Aryan Pangotra while Krish and Gourav won Bronze medals respectively, whereas in below 35 kg, top three medals were clinched by Piyush, Vivek and Summer Mehta respectively, and in below 40 kg boys, Varun clinched Gold medal, while Vinayak secured Silver medal and Tarun & Arnav won Bronze medals.
In below 45 Kg, Gold and Silver medals were won by Naman and Charanjeet, while Mohd Moomin and Ranveer clinched Bronze medals respectively, besides in open above weight 70 kg category, three medals were clinched by Vanshveer, Yasir Iqbal and Abhay Sharma respectively and in below 80 kg, Amandeep won Gold medal.
In below 59 kg under-17 boys, Rameshwar Singh won Gold medal, while Amir clinched Silver medal and Riazali won Bronze medal, whereas in below 63 kg, Vyas Raina won Gold medal, Rubal Manhas secured Silver and Abdul Hussain won Bronze medal.
The chief guest complemented the winners and wished them for their bright future. “Sports are imperative for over all personality development of youth as these help in inculcating discipline among them,” Chib said.
He asked the Government to create adequate sports infrastructure in every nook and corner of Jammu and Kashmir aiming to provide youth an opportunity to excel in the sports of their choice.
The guest of honour also complemented the J&K Thangtha Association for conducting the championship which would help the youth to keep away from the social evils and crime like drug abuse.
Among those who were present included Amandeep, Rohit, Shivani, Ankush, Jai Gupta, Shubam Sharma, Aman Verma and Chetan Puri.
