JAMMU, Sept 19: The Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), J&K concluded the Inter-Zonal District Level Boxing Competitions for U-19 boys and girls at the MA Stadium, Jammu. Organized under the guidance of Director General Youth Services and Sports, J&K, Rajinder Singh Tara, the event provided a crucial platform for young athletes to showcase their talent and prepare for future competitions.
Approximately 30 participants from various zones of District Jammu took part in the tournament, which aimed to identify and nurture emerging talent. A team of experienced officials, including Sunil Abrol, Vishal Singh, Jatinder Kumar, William Kumar, Nitin Sharma, and Rohit Sadhotra, oversaw the event.
Harvinder Kour, In-Charge DYSSO Jammu, commended the participants for their dedication and encouraged them to maintain a spirit of teamwork. She awarded medals and certificates to the winners and runners-up, celebrating their outstanding performances.
In the finals, the winners included Kush Sharma (-48 KG), Ansh Digra (-51 KG), Naryan Majotra (-54 KG), Ranveer Singh (-57 KG), Dhruv Mahajan (-60 KG), Pratham (-64 KG), Varun Sharma (-69 KG), Vansh Singh (-75 KG), Manit Rattan (-81 KG), Sourav Prkaya (-91 KG), and Angad Saini (+91 KG) among the boys. For the girls, Uravashi won in the -45 KG category, while Jasmeen Kour triumphed in the -54 KG category.
