POONCH, Feb 19: The Symposium on the topics “Role of youth in crime free society, Healthy life style and no to drugs and Copying in the examinations is a menance” at Govt Degree College, Mendhar, here today. The programme was presided over by the Principal, Prof Shabir Hussain Shah, while SSP Poonch, J S Johar was the chief guest and SDPO Mendhar, Surinder Choudhary was the guest of honour.
The programme was divided into two categories of Senior and Junior for College and School students respectively.
In senior category, first prize was won by Mohd Adrees of B.Sc. Part-III from GDC, Mendhar while 2nd and 3rd positions went to Nighat Ara of B.Sc. Part-II and Sobia Firdous from B.Sc. Part-III from the same College, while in the junior category, first prize was bagged by Dilshad from GHSS boys Mendhar and 2nd Prize was won by Shehnaz Kouser from Hr. Sec. School, Harni. The 3rd prize in this category was shared by Abida Kouser from GHSS Chattral and Wahied Sadeeq from Public Hr. Sec. School Mendhar.
The chief guest and the other dignitaries spoke on the occasion and threw light on the topics.
DySP, Shahid Nahiem Choudhary, Akhter Ali and Prof Shokit Hussain from GDC Mendhar were the jury members, while the proceedings of the programme were conducted by Prof Mohd Akram.
The welcome address was presented by Prof A A Chowdhary, while the vote of thanks was presented by Prof Sarshad Hussain.
Mementoes and cash prizes were distributed among the winners on the occasion.
