JAMMU, Dec 8: Under the ongoing Civic Action Programme, District Police Ramban organized a Football Tournament at DPL, here.
While declaring the Tournament open, SSP Ramban Randeep Kumar addressed the participants and urged the youth to channelize their energy in positive direction to transform the society into drug and crime free.
He said that premier teams from different parts of district have confirmed their participation and is being held on knockout basis. The slogan of the tournament is to “Play for peace with J&K Police”.
The inaugural match was played between FC Ramban and Chanderkot A which was won by FC Ramban by 6 goals to nil, while the second match was played between Chanderkot B and Banihal, which was won by Banihal by a margin of 4 goals.
The final match was played between FC Ramban and Banihal, in which FC Ramban team emerged winner via tie-breaker.
The organizing committee of the tournament included Mushtaq Ahmed Choudhary, Additional SP Ramban; Surjeet Kumar, SP, IRP 9th Bn; Suresh Chib, SP, IRP 9th Bn; Mohd Rafiq Choudhary, Dy.SP Hqrs Ramban; Tuffail Ahmed Mir, Dy.SP DAR DPL Ramban; Inspr. Mohd Afzal Wani, DPL Ramban; Dinesh Mohan, Pharmacist, Arun Sharma, Masarat Ahmed and Saif Ul Islam of Youth Services and Sports.
