District Police Ramban organizes wrestling competition

Ramban, Apr 14: As a part of its Civic Action Programme (CAP), District Police Ramban organized a wrestling competition at Government Higher Secondary School, here today.
Over 50 wrestlers drawn from District Ramban and adjoining areas participated in the Championship.
Neelam Langeh, MLA Ramban was the chief guest on the occasion, while Babu Ram, ADDC Ramban was guest of honour.
The first round was won by Kuldeep Singh of Pancheri by defeating Khushi Mohd of Sangaldan, 2nd won by Pritam Singh of Reasi by defeating  Kaka Ram of Gandhri Ramban and the 3rd round was won by Karnail Singh of Batote.
A special bout was announced on the spot for which Mr Langeh declared cash prize of Rs 5,000 on the spot.
This bout was won by Amandev Singh of Ramban by defeating Zakir Hussain.
A total of 28 bouts were fought in the competition. The wrestling competition was also held under the age group of 12 and 14 years, besides senior category.
The chief guest and the other dignitaries distributed cash prizes of Rs 11,000 to the winners and Rs 8,000 to runners-up of the first bout, while an amount of Rs 7,000 was presented to winner and Rs 5,000 to the runners-up of the 2nd bout and Rs 3,000 and Rs 2,000 were presented to winner and runners-up of the 3rd bout respectively.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Langeh said that the step taken by the J&K Police in district Ramban needs to be encouraged and congratulated SSP Ramban for organising such a mega event involving a large number of people to enhance Polic Public relationship.
Randeep Kumar, SSP Ramban while speaking on the occasion said that J&K Police has led from the front in upholding the rule of law, strengthening the integrity of the nation and maintaining communal harmony for ever lasting peace, apart from promoting sports and games.
