UDHAMPUR, June 5: District Rifle & Pistol Championship was organized by Udhampur District Rifle Association under the aegis of J&K Rifle Association in collaboration with Udhampur City Shooting Range Ballian here today.
PS Mehta, Lt. General (Retd) was the chief guest at the function. He said the Youth of Udhampur & Surrounding areas has huge potential in both Rifle & Pistol disciplines and are capable of reaching the National & International arena if they receive moral & financial support from their parents and experts. He appreciated the efforts of DRA & Sumit Sharma, V.K. Sharma for wise investment towards the right cause.
The final results of the Championship were (10m rifle boys); Shivansh secured 288 Points, Puneet Bhardwaj secured 222 Points and Sarthak Singh 222 points and Aditya Singh 198 points. In the girls 10m rifle; Sarika Sharma secured 260 points, Samriti Sharma 202 points and Aditi 130 points.
In 10m pistol boys Adamya 172 points and Sanchit Singh 142 points. In the girls category Vannya secured 266 points while Mavan Shika 246 points and Prakriti Gupta secured 166 points.
Senior 10m Air Rifle boys; Atal secured 330 points, Akhil Mankotia secured 182 points. Senior 10m Air-Pistol boys; Sumit Sharma secured 342 points and Sanjeet Katoch 336 points. The qualified players for J&K UT Championship were Shivansh, Sumit Sharma and Sanjeet Katoch.
Ashok Kumar, Chief Patron Sports Academy Udhampur, former Director Sports SMVDSB & Vice President J&K Rifle Association, Romesh Mishra DYSSO Udhampur, V.K. Sharma Patron Udhampur City Sports Academy, O.P Sharma Jugal Kisore Gupta Treasurer, Vincent Gupta Hony Secretary, Som Dev Khajuria, Vikas Sharma, Jatin Sethi, Ankush Khanna and a large number of parents of the competitors were present on the occasion.
