SAMBA, Sept 2: District Samba girls dominated in the kho-kho and kabaddi events of the Inter-Zonal Tournament in the disciplines of kabaddi, kho-kho, volleyball and wrestling Under-19 boys and girls, which got underway at Kehli Mandi Ground, here today.
Principal Girls Higher Secondary School Samba, Razor Singh was the chief guest on the occasion, while Som Raj Raghubanshi, Principal HSS Nud was the guest of honour.
Around 300 students drawn from various institutions of different zones of district Samba took part in the Tournament, which is being organized under the overall supervision of Jarpal Singh, District Youth Services and Sports Officer Samba.
Earlier, Samba drubbed Ghagwal by 2 points in kho-kho Under-19 boys, while in kho-kho Under-19 girls, Samba defeated Vijaypur by 10 points.
In kabaddi Under-19 girls, Samba got better of Vijaypur to clinch the title, while in volleyball Under-19 boys, Ramgarh outplayed Purmandal by (2-1) sets.
The teams of different zones were fielded by ZPEOs Mohan Singh and Sukhdev Singh.
