SAMBA, Nov 22: Jammu and Kashmir Yoga Association today organized District Level Yoga Championship at Samba.
The event took place at The Pathseekers International School, Ramgarh (Samba), where various participants of different age categories and schools took part.
Event was held under the supervision of Anil Gupta Yoga Coach (Indian Yoga Team) and International Referee, Shamsher Singh National Player & Referee, Vinod Bhatia (General Secretary, J&K Yoga Association).
Nimrandeep Singh Bhullar, Director of The Pathseekers International School was the chief guest on the occasion.
While addressing to the participants of various age categories, Singh said that regular practice of yoga creates mental clarity and calmness, increases body awareness, relieves chronic stress patterns, relaxes the mind and sharpens concentration.
To make the championship more competitive, the age groups have been revised as per the instructions of Yoga Federation of India.
In Sub Juniors 8 to 10 years boys- 1st Rank Dheeraj Kumar, 2nd Anuj Bhagat and 3rdJigar Choudhary
In Sub Juniors 8 to 10 years girls- 1stHardeepKour, 2ndSamridhi Pangotra and 3rd Vanshika
10 years to 12 years– Boys 1st Jashan Singh , 2nd Karanjeet Singh, while in Girls 1st Simran Chauhan and 2ndHarshdeep Singh, while in 12 years to 14 years boys- 1st position Vansh Kumar and in girls 1st position was bagged by Kulwinder Kour
In Juniors 14 years to 16 years boys; 1stAmritpal , 2ndRamandeep Singh and 3rdNavi Choudhary.
The vote of thanks was presented by Principal of Pathseekers School, Manpreet Kaur.
