JAMMU, Nov 3: District Jammu Softball Championship, organised by Softball Association under “My Youth My Pride’ concluded at GGM Science College Ground, here wherein Cosmo Softball Club emerged winners in both men and women section and secured Gold medals.
Prof Rajesh Gupta, Principal GGM Science College was the chief guest and Ashok Singh, Divisional Sports officer, J&K Sports Council, Dr Vinod Bakshi, Physical Director GGM Science College and Wasim Raja Khan, general secretary were the guests of honour.
The championship was organised in junior, sub junior and senior wherein teams from different Clubs, Colleges and Schools of Jammu district participated. The Cosmo Club in the men’s section clinched Gold while Nine Rangers was the 1st runner up and Talab Tillo Bulls was the 2nd runner up.
In the women’s section, Cosmo Club beat Carmel Club by 14-02 and clinched Gold, while Carmel Club was 1st runner up and Warriors Club settled at 3rd place with Bronze medal.
Vikram Singh Chib was announced as best player of the tournament in men’s section by scoring a brilliant Golden home run in the tournament and in girl’s section Harseerat Kour was the best player.
Wasim Raja Khan presented vote of thanks to all dignitaries present during the closing ceremony including Harikesh Singh, Sudhir Singh, Padamdev Singh, Harvinder Singh, Madan Mohan, Ashwani Jaral, Verinder Singh and others.
