PULWAMA, Nov 12: 1st Pulwama District Sport Climbing Competition organized by Sunridges Trekking & Mountaineering Club Ratnipora, Pulwama at TRC Sport Climbing Wall at Nowgam concluded successfully with 71 climbers including 8 girls from various local schools and clubs of Pulwama district participating in the one day competition. The competition was conducted under the aegis of Mountaineering Association of J&K and with co-operation of Directorate of Tourism, Kashmir. It was sponsored by J&K State Sports Council.
The competition was held in five categories of Senior and Junior Girls and senior, Junior and Sub-Junior Boys on ‘Top Rope’ under the overall supervision of Parvez Ahmad, mountaineering instructor of Tourism Department.
Results:
Senior Girls: Rafia Yousuf of Govt. Girls Higher Sec. School Pulwama, 1st; Sabiya Moosa of Imamia Club Gangoo, 2nd and Vakeela of Imamia Club.
Junior Girls: Sehar-U-Tamanna, 1st; Beenish Mumtaaz, 2nd; (both of Valen Teens School Ratnipora), 3rd.
Mir Saima Jan of Good Will Public School Ratnipora.
Senior Boys: Reyaz Ahmad of Ambali Club Pahoo, 1st Mohd. Hussain Dar from Imamia Club, 2nd and Sammer Ahmad from Parigam.
Junior boys: Syed Junaid of Al-Habeeb Public School Pulwama, 1st Farhat Ayub, 2nd Owais of I.E.I. Pahoo; 3rd.
Sub-junior boys: Ahsan-Ul-Mushtaq of Valen Teens School, 1st; Suhaib Salam; 2nd and Syed Furqan Andrabi of Valen Teens School.
Jameel Mustafa, Secretary of Sunridges Trekking and Mountaineering Club who was the chief guest on the occasion distributed prizes and certificates among the winners.
