ANANTNAG, July 28: The two day-long 24th District Sqay Championship organized here in district Anantnag witnessed exhilarating display of martial arts prowess. The championship was organized by Jammu and Kashmir Sqay Association at Town Hall Anantnag.
The event brought together approximately 150 skilled players under different age categories from the various parts of Anantnag district to showcase their talent under the leadership of Faizan Shabir as the General Secretary and Mohammad Mutaib as the Organizing Secretary.
The statement said SQAY, a captivating and traditional Kashmiri martial art form, showcased its true essence in this championship. With an emphasis on technique, agility and discipline, the participants enthralled the spectators with their mesmerizing performances. The event proved to be a testament to the growing popularity and significance of martial arts in the region.
Mohammad Mutaib highlighted the significance of promoting traditional sports like SQAY and its role in instilling values of discipline, respect and determination among the youth and emphasized the importance of continuing the legacy of SQAY and its role in nurturing talent from the grassroots level.
