KARGIL, June 3: District Srinagar defeated Budgam by a margin of 34 goals in the summit clash and lifted the title trophy in the Divisional Level Inter-District Under-19 Boys Basketball Tournament, organized by the Department of Youth Service and Sports at Basketball Court Khree Sultan Choo Sports Stadium, here.
7 teams drawn from Kashmir Division participated in the tournament.
On this occasion the State Minister for Science and Information Technology, Medical Education, School Education, Youth Services and Sports Feroz Ahmad Khan was the chief guest, while Deputy Director Youth Services and Sports Kashmir, SP Kargil Sujit Singh and District Youth Services and Sports Officer Kargil Haji Mirza Hussain were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest said that such tournaments help in cultural exchange and integration of youths, which is must for a peaceful and harmonious society.
He directed the Department of Youth Services and Sports Kargil to make a project for constructing Youth Hostel in Kargil and assured them all help.
Later, the Minister gave away prizes and trophies to the players of winner and runners-up teams.
