District Srinagar Taekwondo C’ship concludes

SRINAGAR, Apr 14: The three-day District Srinagar Taekwondo Championship, organized by the District Srinagar Taekwondo Association, concluded today at Bakshi Stadium Srinagar. Held from April 12 to 14, the championship was conducted under the supervision of the Taekwondo Association of J&K and was affiliated with India Taekwondo, Asian Taekwondo Union, Olympic Council of Asia, and World Taekwondo.
Around 230 students from various schools and clubs across Srinagar participated in the event, showcasing their skills and enthusiasm. The opening and closing ceremonies were graced by SSP Srinagar Imtiyaz Hussain, Principal Sacred Mission School Imtiyaz Ahmed and other dignitaries.
Open selection trials were also conducted during the event for the upcoming Federation Cup Taekwondo Championship, scheduled to be held at Divisional Sports Complex, Nashik (Maharashtra) from April 25 to 29. A total of 22 athletes from Kashmir Valley were selected to represent the Union Territory. The team will depart from Srinagar on April 24.
