JAMMU, Feb 29: Jammu District Tennis Ball Cricket Championship, being organized by District Jammu Tennis Ball Cricket Association got underway at Green Field ground, here today.
Dalbir Mehta, Senior Hockey coach inaugurated the Championship in presence of Vikas Dogra, Judo coach and Inderpal Singh, Weightlifting coach and a large gathering of sports persons.
Eight teams drawn from the district are participating in the Championship, wherein Shakti Cricket Club, Malik CC and Channi Himat Cricket Club have sealed berth in the semifinals.
Earlier, Malik CC defeated Shakti Cricket Club by 11 runs, Friends Cricket Club outplayed Yuvraj Club by 15 runs, Ishar CC got better of Malik Club by 2 runs, Channi Himat Club trounced Yuvraj Cricket Club by 19 runs and Shakti Nagar Cricket Club prevailed over Ishar Cricket Club by 8 wickets.
