POONCH, Oct 12: The 33rd Poonch District Table Tennis Championship commenced here today which was inaugurated by Sunil Sharma, Chairman Municipal Council Poonch.
The tournament was dedicated to veteran sportsperson Riaz Ahmed (Daddu) and is being organised by District Association under the aegis of J&K Table Tennis Association in collaboration with Sports Council. About 100 players of different age groups are participating in both men and women sections.
The results of the day in (Cadet Boys) were Zeeshan defeated Adnan by (11-5, 11, 6) and Yuvraj defeated Mashooq by (8-11, 11-6, 11-7), while in junior girls category Arushika defeated Tajkiran by (11-2, 11-5) and Ashley defeated Ammara by (11-2, 11-4).
Devendra Singh Bisht, Commandant CRPF and Ajit Singh Jeet, president of the association were also present on this occasion.
