KATRA, Feb 14: District Udhampur Indian Style Wrestling Championship concluded at Subash Stadium, Udhampur today.
The Championship was held under the aegis of J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association and J&K State Sports Council.
36 wrestlers from different parts of the Udhampur District participated in this Championship under the overall supervision of president District Udhampur Indian Style Wrestling Association, Sunil Badyal and general secretary Om Parkash Verma.
Joint Secretary, J&K State Sports Council Shiv Kumar Sharma who is also president J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association and president Senior Citizens Welfare Forum Katra was the chief guest on the occasion who gave away certificates and medals to the winners, runners-up and third place holders. President Bar Association Udhampur Surinder Khajuria, Advocate Swatantra Dev Kotwal and Yuv Raj Sharma Advocate were the guests of honour.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Sunil Badyal, Om Parkash Verma, Virender Kumar, Satish Kumar, Yog Raj Sharma Advocate, Prateek Sharma Advocate, Sanjit Balowria Advocate, Gopal Krishan Sharma, Jai Dev Singh Slathia Advocate, Sukhdev Singh, Hans Raj Thakur and Rakesh Kumar.
Technical officials who helped for conduct of District Championship were Bansi Lal Tidyal, Mulkh Raj Sharma, Tulinder Kumar, Pankaj Sharma, Varinder Kumar and Laxhman Singh Katoch.
The gold medal winners included Baldev Singh, Tirth Ram, Nazir Ahmed, Arif Din and Zakir Hussain.
