District Udhampur lifts U-19 boys cricket title

UDHAMPUR, Sept 3: Defeating formidable Doda District Cricket team in a low scoring summit clash, District Udhampur lifted the title trophy in the Divisional Level Inter-District Under-19 Boys Cricket Tournament at Sports Stadium, here today.
District Development Commissioner (DDC), Udhampur, Yasha Mudgal was the chief guest on the valedictory function, who distributed prizes among the winners and runners-up teams.
Earlier, batting first, Doda was bundled out for 81 runs in the allotted overs.
In reply, Udhampur chased the target in 16.5 overs by losing 7 wickets, thus won the match by 3 wickets. Abhimod was the top scorer with 23 runs.
The tournament was organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, under the overall supervision of Ved Parkash, Deputy Director, Jammu and Sukhdev Singh, DYSSO Udhampur.
The match was officiated by Rajesh Sharma, Raman Sharma, Vinod Khajuria and Rakesh Sharma, while prominent among others present on the occasion were Champa Devi, Ram Lal Badyal, Sanjeev Kumar, Sanjay Sharma, Naveen Sharma, Swarandeep Singh Tara, Kancha Kumari, Sushma Devi, Raman Kumari and Ramesh Kumar.
