UDHAMPUR, Oct 7: 2-day District Volleyball Championship got underway at Mini Stadium Volleyball Complex, here today.
The Championship was declared open by Kuldeep Khajuria, Station House Officer, Udhampur in an impressive function.
The tournament is being organized by Volleyball Association Udhampur, under the aegis of Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir.
12 teams are participating in the men’s section, while 5 teams are taking part in the female category.
Meanwhile, in the men’s category matches played today, PG College Udhampur defeated KV 1 Udhampur in straight two sets by (25-13, 25-18), Tikri Volleyball Club thrashed Malhar Club again by (25-13, 25-18), Chirgai Club lost to Chenani Club by (11-25, 8-25) and Chenani Club lost to City Volleyball Club by (22-25, 18-25).
The matches in the girls section would be played tomorrow.
The matches were officiated by Ashok Kumar, Amit Sharma, Manik Nargotra, Kuldeep Kumar, Shashi Sharma and Sanjeev Verma.
