UDHAMPUR, May 22: In continuation of District Level Inter School Tournament for Boys and Girls (U-14 and U-17 years) in Wu-Shu and Boxing/Kick Boxing got underway at Subash Stadium, here today.
About 62 boys and girls drawn from 13 different schools of district Udhmapur participated in the Tournament, which is being organized by the Department of Youth Service and Sports Udhampur, under the patronage of Director Youth Service and Sports J&K Subhash Chander Chibber, under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Sachin Kumar Vaishy and under the overall supervision of Romesh Chander Mishra (DYSSO Udhampur).
In Wu-Shu U-14 (Girls) event, Pragati Sharma of Little Angles High School won in 48 Kg weight category while in U-17 (Girls) event, Smily of AOC Udhampur emerged winner in 65 Kg, Kannavi Sharma of Sainik Coperative Tikri in 60 Kg, Tania Sharma of AOC Udhampur in 52 Kg and Sneha Rajput of Sainik Coperative Tikri won in 48 Kg category.
U-14 years (Boys) event, Rohit Kumar of MS Meldi emerged winner in 32 Kg category, Anibesh Bagotra of BBSV Peeth won in 36 Kg, Ayush Singh of GHS Sattani in 40 Kg and Vansh Sharma of Little Angles High School won in 44 Kg. In U-17 years (Boys) event, Ansh of Evergreen High School won in 44 Kg, Akash of Little Angles High School in 48 Kg, Vansh Thakur of Sainik Coperative Tikri emerged winner in 52 Kg and Ansh Verma of BBSV Peeth won in 60 Kg.
All the matches were officiated by technical experts of Youth Services and Sports Department, Udhampur.
Among others present on the occasion were Romesh Chander (Incharge Activity), Som Dev Khajuria (PEM), Vikas Sharma (PEM), Meenakshi (NYK) and Ganeem Akhter.
