UDHAMPUR, May 29: District Youth Services and Sports Department Udhampur organized District Level Inter Zonal Tournament for Boys (U-17 years) in the disciplines of Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Volleyball and Wrestling at Subash Stadium, here today.
The event took place under the patronage of Subash Chander Chibber (Director Youth Services and Sports J&K) under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Sachin Vaishy and supervision of DYSSO Udhampur, Subash Chander Mishra.
Ajit Singh (Zonal Physical Education Officer, Tikri) along with Zonal Physical Education Officer DYSS Officer Pushpinder Kour and ZPEO Udhampur Deep Kumar graced the occasion as chief guest. Sushma Rani (ZPEO Jib), Sham Lal (ZPEO Ramnagar) and Vijay Kumar (ZPEO Panchari) were special guest on the occasion.
About 320 boys drawn from 11 Zones of District Udhampur participated in the Tournament. In U-17 Boys (Volleyball), Zone Jib defeated Zone Panchari by 2-1 sets while in U-17 Boys (Kabaddi), Zone Udhampur beats Zone Chenani by 25-11. In U-17 Boys (Kho-Kho), Zone Chenani drubbed Zone Babey by 1 inning and 3 points.
In U-17 Boys (Wrestling), Sarjan Singh of Zone Chenani stood 1st in 50-55 Kg category, Manav Ghordi of Zone Ghordi in 56-60 Kg, Vikrant of Zone Jib in 61-65 Kg, Vinay of Zone Majalta in 66-70 Kg and Savita Singh of Udhampur Zone in 71-75 kg category.
All the matches were officiated by the technical experts of the Department of Youth Services & Sports, Udhampur.
